Well, this will be a short entry, for reasons that will become clear shortly.
We were booked to do The Golden Circle tour but, because we had already done that as part of our first tour, we decided to see if we could swap that one for another one.  Ended up choosing the Whale Watching Tour.  We paid extra, got picked up from the hotel and went off to the harbour and the boat.  The guide of the whale tour gave us all a spiel about safety, etc, part of which was that sea sick tablets were available from the canteen, that it could get quite rough out in the bay, the tablets take about 40 minutes to take effect and anyone who was worried at all should probably take one before we left the harbour.  So Maureen and I did just that.
The trip itself, while it's always lovely out on the water, was a bit disappointing.  We only saw the tail end of two minke whales and a couple of white fin dolphins.  We got back to shore around 11.30 then got the bus back to the hotel.  We had lunch then sat in the lounge with the laptop to update the blog.  After I woke Maureen up for the 3rd time and was fighting sleep myself, I suggested that we have a short rest before we continued.  So off we went to bed.  I woke up at 7.00 on Monday morning and Maureen woke up at 8.00.  We were both fully clothed, hadn't moved all night almost and were still ready to sleep much longer. We blamed it on the tablets.

Good morning, everyone. We are at our hotel in Oslo after breakfast, trying to load the itinerary and maps and having no success at all.  Maureen has downloaded all her photos onto the laptop and my OneDrive is now full... We have lots of photos to upload and I'll get to that shortly.  First, though, a brief snapshot of what we've been doing since we left home: You know about the flight over and our stay in Dubai and our flight to Prague, all of which I slept through.  You might need Maureen to fill you in on the details of that part of the journey. Prague - Friday 25 August

Hi, everyone, This is to catch you all up to where we are today - in Iceland, staying on Vestmannaeyjar, an island off the south coast.  Lots of photos of that later... Back to Friday, in Prague: Belinda, Carol, Hamish, Toby, Maureen and I went to Prague Zoo - it was amazing, incredibly clean, well organised and not overly busy, even though it's high tourist time and school holidays.  Belinda, Carol and the boys stayed till about 12 or so, when the boys were tired and cranky and ready to leave.  Maureen and I stayed till about 2 and FOUND OUR OWN WAY HOME USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!!!!!  The flamingos were extremely noisy but very graceful and also very argumentative.  They always remind me of Paul...  Please excuse the poor quality of the photos but almost all of them were taken through glass.  That's a really tiny blue lizard on the left - not sure what type but Maureen will have taken a photo of the accompanying information plaque so she ...

Oslo - Saturday - 26 August

At Prague airport, having brekkie while we wait for our flight to Oslo.  We've had a lovely few days in Prague and can't wait to get back there to explore further.  Getting very excited about finally arriving in Iceland. Got a universal charger for my laptop and we are almost ready to put photos up.  Maureen spent 3 hours last night downloading her photos from her camera and saving them to USB.  Hopefully it will be my turn tonight...
