Tuesday (B) - 29 August - Day 2 of V & G
Back from lunch in the restaurant at the hotel where we're staying for 2 nights, till we go on our next tour... Just want to snooze but I'm being strong - zzz...
Back from a very short snooze in the bar after lunch - wouldn't have been noticed if Maureen hadn't started snoring. Now, I have to work...
We called in at Skagofoss falls - deemed to be the prettiest in Iceland because they are almost rectangular. They were very pretty but so were all the others. I put my fingers in the water of the river that the falls flow into - it was cold but not as cold as I thought it would be. That or my fingers were frozen.
It was a glorious day - everyone kept telling us that we were so lucky to have such a beautiful day, no wind, clear blue sky and not a cloud to be seen. We've learnt since then that they were right. The weather is unpredictable and changeable without warning. We then called in to see a blowhole which was a bit of a fizzer because the tide was all wrong and the sea was calm because it was such a beautiful day.
Then onto Black Beach, which I may have mentioned in an earlier post. Maureen is going to add photos about all those places.
We then drove onto Vik, a small town on the south east coast, where we stayed for Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
